From January 5th, 2026, the new 3 Day Guarantee will make quality early learning more accessible than ever for Australian families.
What the 3 Day Guarantee means for families
- Eligible families receiving the Child Care Subsidy (CCS) will now be assured a minimum of 3 days (72 hours) of subsidised care per fortnight — no matter their activity levels.
- Families who meet activity test requirements, hold a valid exemption, or care for a First Nations child may continue to access up to 100 hours of subsidised care per fortnight.
This update represents a significant win for families, helping many save thousands of dollars each year.
